The sunlight was landing on the pond but the kingfisher was in a little shade, as a result this stunning image was possible with the wonderful contrast of the blues in the kingfisher against the gold of the fading duckweed in the pond. Amazingly this image was taken in the metropolis of Wales' capital, Cardiff.
